Feeling body slammed tonight...

Work was work... Got home to a Facebook invite to a "memorial" music jam for someone I know... I'm so out of the social media loop, he passed away one month ago, it was publicly announced on November 1, I guess I'm 21 days out of date

He was a co-host for a music jam I frequent and one I've been going to more often recently, I didn't know him all that well, just through that weekly jam and he was a fairly quiet person

But... Here's the kicker... Looking through some posts there was reference to his struggles with a mental illness, leading me to think it might have been a suicide... I'm not going to ask!

I'm just feeling body slammed right now...

And the night for his memorial music jam? Is the same night that my favourite photographer is having a book launch, I may have to choose one or the other, and I'm not sure what to do, which one is more important, or just spend half my time between both but that will be tricky

You don't have to choose one or the other. You could make a short presence at one of them.

I've thought of that... It would be far more meaningful to spend the entire evening at the music jam... Yet I also know that I will probably learn a few things from the photography thing... I'm almost leaning toward just going to the music jam...

If it will be more meaningful to spend the evening at the music jam, do that. If it's not out of the way, stop at the book launching on the way. But don't pressure yourself into more than you think you can handle.
I'm sorry to hear about the co-host. And I'm sorry you had to hear about it on over facebook.
