Feeling kind of lost...

So I recently got a full and proper diagnosis, the specialist confirmed it and spoke with my psychiatrist about it. The problem? Well now he doesn't think he's qualified to treat me and the specialist is only for diagnoses and consultation. There are no plans to transfer me anywhere else and I have just been told that there are programs around the city I can check out. I did, and they specialize mostly in children, not adults.

Not sure what to do now...

Yes, this is actually the norm. Don't worry! This is the route one can take as an adult after diagnosis, to get some supports in place-- even if you don't yet know which supports you need:

If you are in USA, contact Department of Developmental Services in your state. You can Google it for contact info. From initial contact to getting a service coordinator, it took me about 6 months, because I had to get all the documentation they needed such as birth certificate, social security card, etc., and make copies. I can't drive, so this took me time. You will ideally get intake sooner, and be on your way to some great services for adults! Best of luck!
