I'd vote Micropsychologists on top. Helping microbes thru their issues... you really got to know your stuff.

Was offended I didn't see the Geologist on here but then figured he's probably passed out drunk in a field somewhere :D:p

Y'a mean, like being able to do a mass balance of E. coli metabolism, given 60 grams of glucose?

Yes, that. :p
It’s just that I’ve gathered there’s a tiny bit of rivalry and maybe ego involved with scientists, except for those not yet done with their doctorate. They’re above all that. :D

Would that be far fetched? Training as a scientist, you learn to advocate for your work, your research. Just imagine being a shy person to begin with. But I found the training to come in handy when I had to learn to advocate for myself.

This is something I have seen and am still seeing first-hand with my son.
You must have had a fascinating journey.

You must have had a fascinating journey.
When one is presenting new work at a seminar, you know the knives are out for any critical fault in your work.

PLUS, by being open to learning and application throughout life, I was able to contribute in Molecular Genetics, and Experimental Pathology, then go on to do work on things like designing radiopharmaceutical processes, to validating Electron Beam sterilization using some moderately sophisticated statistics.

I hope your son is learning a critical lesson on his journey. With technical skills I have seen too many people hold their knowledge and experience close, as if not easily sharing it gives them authority and power. I found that by freely sharing my knowledge and experience, I got something better than authority . . . . influence.
