Hi all
I'm 62 years old and was just diagnosed with Aspergers last week. While it seems too late to do much good, it was a relief. Much of what I struggled with in my life, this explained. I was also raised in an alchoholic, abusive house and many of those issues resulted in similar behaviors. After 30+ years in Al-Anon, I realized that I had resolved the childhood challenges, but some things remained. After researching, it led me to getting tested. And here I am.
After spending most of my life alone, some friends set me up on a date. I guess they knew what they were doing - I married at the tender age of 47. My wife has believed I was Aspie for quite a while, and luckily, has treated me that way, as much as she can.
Anyway, I'm glad to start this new journey, and hope to learn and share with those who really understand.
