For Asthma sufferers

Wouldn't that be a blessing if the larger studies hold true. Of course, the pharmaceutical cartels are not interested in cures, but rather treatments. All one can do is hope.

That does sound plausible. I do believe there is a strong link between asthma and autism.

On the topic of being hyper- or hypo- sensitive, I've never found that inhalers did any good because my asthma is so severe by the time I notice I actually have it that it can only be helped by steroids, usually when I wake up dozens of times a night in an adrenaline panic (the windpipe closes much more easily when you're lying down).

I've failed the lung capacity test many times but not otherwise felt a single symptom other than being winded when walking a flight of stairs. So I decided there was no point in carrying an inhaler around if I can't even feel it until it's at the point of needing oral steroids. Good way to avoid inhaler dependence, I suppose.

I'm on a daily preventative dosage, morning and night. It helps a lot.
The SOS inhaler I only use if I start having coughing fits during the day.

Using the steroid inhaler routinely does help reduce, prevent, major attacks.

You know i'm not quite sure of my Asthma status as I did the lung capacity test and passed from memory but was issued with an inhaler and it is on my prescription list. My peak flow is way too low for my age and build though. I can struggle with breathing. My dad bought me something called Aerosure which can be helpful. It is like I forget to breath as my head is so jammed with thoughts. I can gather myself and just start breathing like gasping for breath.

What is truly amazing is how dependent we humans are on the bacteria that live in the digestive system. (If you think about it, everything from the mouth to the anus is actually outside our bodies.)

What a bizarre idea, that bacteria living in our "gut" control so much of our growth, development, etc. Yet, that is what we are learning.

It is also informative that this research indicates how much of our growth and development continues to occur after birth.

Btw, I looked up on google after I posted about autistics struggling to breathe when speaking. I wondered if this is connected to asthma/respiratory issues if there is any link or something else. It is very strange.

I have coughing asthma and do not even use the puffer I was given, because as far as I am concerned, I feel they are addictive induced. Ok, so I used it for a while, to get over an episode ( acid induced).

Now, when I start to wheeze, I take as big a breath and pause for a second and am fine afterwards.
