Happy 4th! How are you spending it? Do friends and family factor in, or lots of solitude? Do you like or avoid fireworks? Got a cookout, beach, or picnic in your plans?

I'm enjoying solitude, being barefoot in the grass, a hamburger for dinner, some lovely ball playing in the shade with my dog, and maybe time on my swing set. Perhaps a homemade cherry juice popsicle in there, too! I live in a wooded area, so I'll only see a hint of fireworks by a neighboring town. My job will be to play to distract my dog, who doesn't enjoy the fireworks anymore... except for his toy! ;)

Have a great holiday!

I'll settle for my home not burning down to the ground today and tomorrow.

Life in the dry- and absurdly combustible desert.

happy fourth of July from the UK
seems ironic that someone from England 200 or more years later is congratulating you

Awesome GSD!

I'll be getting home early and hiding in my closet with earplugs. There isn't really a lot of noise in my area but even a few firecrackers can freak me out quite a bit.

Cute dog picture!

Happy fourth of July to all of you good people on the website.

As a veteran and American, I am proud to celebrate this day. As a southerner, it's a grim reminder of what happened at Gettysburg.

From July 1, 1863 to July 3, 1863. In just three days where some 46,000 to 51,000 Americans lost their lives in a second war of independence that ultimately failed. With Gettysburg as a decisive turning point in the war.
