Ford vs. Chevrolet

I always make this thread at my other forums and my buddies and I argue about this nearly every week at least once haha.

So whats the superior vehicle manufacturer in your opinion, Ford or Chevy? :P

DeLorean > All :P

On a serious note: I haven't owned/driven/been inside a Chevy and they don't seem to be very popular in Europe so I can't really compare them both. I have had experiences with 3 Ford vehicles though, namely a Ford Excursion (US), Ford Explorer (US) and a Ford Escort (UK). While I loved both SUVs the Explorer and Escort that my parents once owned suffered from so many problems so I most likely wouldn't go near a Ford vehicle again.

Hahaha yep. Ford's keep mechanics in business. Fast Only Rolling Downhill (Ford) Everything that GM produces is quality machinery, chevy, pontiac, geo, GMC

Heh, I'll have to give that one to Ford. Probably because I want secretly want my dad's Mustang since he sort of pimped it out.
I really couldn't give you much of an answer beyond that.

Where I'm from, I remember the debate always being Ford vs. Dodge.

Mustangs look bad-ass, I remember my American uncle won a Mustang and a load of other stuff through some sort of competition he entered. Sadly, I never got a ride in it due to time constraints when we were visiting him (he also had the Ford Excursion and another vehicle that we would use).

The '67 mustang is the only one id ever drive. the rest of them look cheap, especially the '90 series and the fox bodies. mustangs have always had manifold problems and ford in general lacks intellect in the chassis electrical systems lol the only fords i actually like are the Broncos and the Maverics. chevrolet and pontiac are always a better choice. always. camaros and firebirds are much better looking and running then any commercial vehicle ford has made. and even when GM cars do break down, id rather push a chevy then drive a ford ;)

Actually, to be honest, I never cared for American cars. I was always more partial to British or Japanese designs. I like how British cars kept a lot of their classic design, and I liked the size/quality of Japanese cars.

The mustang did feel kind of badass to drive, though, I will admit. I like the new design and the old classic ones, but the ones in between are horrible I think. I think Ford/Chevy/Dodge compact cars are horrible to drive, whenever I had to drive a friends or a rental, I really hated it and felt uncomfortable the whole time.

But if you mean trucks, well, obviously that's a different...I wouldn't know then. Heh.

I can't really choose from either of them. However, I have never owned anything from Ford Motor Company. I currently own a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe. Before that, I owned a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am and a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4. I really want a 2003 or 2004 Land Rover Discovery.

2010Dolby, I dunno how I missed this, let me throw in my two cents worth here;

For us down under, the debate rages in similar style but the parent companies watch from the sidelines.
Ours is still Ford but they are up against Holden (still General Motors only sexier)

I suppose now the debate can be levered round to be;
General Motors Corporation Vs. General Motors Holden? An epic, Father versus Son battle, has the student surpassed the master or is there fight in the old dog yet.

Hey, We did invent the Ute after all!

Have you seen the pictures I've uploaded of my Firebird? General Motors Corporation for the win! That Firebird is sooooooo sexy haha and my truck is 6000 pounds of GM muscle :H

But Im pretty biased and sheltered because I've seen nothing that GM Holden has made. Ill probably do some google searches for them during my next class, does your GM have any of the Camaro/Firebird series?

Yeah I saw a couple pics you posted and I want one too but having said that, I was raised on American TV shows, all American cars are beautiful, sleek and SXC!

If you wanna check out Holden manufacturing, probably try Torana, Kingswood, Commodore, Holden Crewman, Gemini and... of course
The Holden Efijy Concept (based around the old FJ? Nice, Vintage)

Theres a couple for a start, and besides, I am not really a car nut so that?s all I can remember ; ]

Here's a quick pic of the Holden Efijy Concept to peak your interest View attachment 2620

Possibly worth mentioning that the OP of this thread died in a car accident earlier this year in case anyone was expecting a response from him.

I have both a Chevy and a ford. My buddy has a dodge pick up its name is Henry. Lol so you tell me who is the better vehicle. My fords name is Louis and my Chevy is named Wilbur. The same friend that owns the slodge I mean dodge pick up says I should name the ford OJ. Lol

I am a truck guy and I drive a full-sized Dodge 4x4. It is big, strong, dependable and it gets almost 12 mpg. I make payments on a 2013 Ford Focus that my wife drives and it is a great car. Over the years I have had a lot of different brands of cars and trucks. I have good luck with most of them. If you take care of them and repair small problems be for they become big problems, most of them are OK.
