I like mine roasted. Working in Heredia, Costa Rica, I would go to Pollos del Monte for my chicken fix. I'd have their coffeewood roasted chicken and patacones con guacamole. Washed down with horchata. Indescribably good.

I buy my fried chicken at Publix, it's sooooo good. They pretty much always have some fried chicken in the deli, just go there and grab it. Nice and crispy.

I am from the Deep South....where they know how to fry everything, even pickle slices! My favorite fried chicken is homemade or from a soul food restaurant....buttermilk batter w/ a little beer in it (double battered for extra crunchy) AND spicy crunchy skin...HOT DAMN it's GOOD! Even better w/ some biscuits and gravy!

I haven't tried it but I don't like the smell. I'll try it later some time I think. Maybe. I have heard a lot of people say it's good.

I'm firmly in the agnostic camp on fried chicken. I like it when I have it, but I rarely just "in the mood" for it. Chicken fingers, though, I cook those myself and they have to be pan-fried. So do those count?

I love pan-fried chicken fingers!!

Chicken is the best! Had to dig this out of the archive. This is me as a kid eating a well chicken dinner. I look like a caveman lol.

Do you love fried chicken like I love fried chicken?

LOL....really? Didn't you post not long ago that you suffered from GERD?

Fried chicken was my very first "trigger" for reflux. First happened in 1993 while eating at a KFC.

Chicken without the skins, oil or grease I can eat with not to much discomfort.

Very true. I love fried chicken but fried chicken does not love me.

One thing to consider though are breaded chicken products without skins or the oil/grease. That I can eat....and am contemplating trying to eat KFC's newest chicken something....replacing nuggets.

But yeah, the real deal....fried skins and all I pay too high a price to eat.

But dayim...I sure miss those eleven herbs and spices !

Truth be told, if battered and deep fried at the correct temperature, and the heat can handle the sudden cold of the chicken, very little oil gets absorbed. This is why I prefer gas stoves, and I don't pan-fry nearly as much as I used to, since I have electric.
