This is probably the simplest poll I have ever come up with here.

Do you like French fries? Or chips, as they are referred to in some parts of the world?

I love them but they do not love me back.

I love ‘em at McDonald’s, I love ‘em as JoJos with fried chicken, I love seasoned curly fries at Arby’s, I love the Cajun fries at Five Guys.

And that is why I am currently overweight.

I can not vote, because it´s neither "hell yeah" or "hell no." I can eat them and they taste not bad for me, but I also don´t need them and usually don´t eat them. when I eat a burger, I usually just order the burger or don´t care about the fries and it eat them partly or give them away.

I don´t like crunchy fries. I also don´t like crunchy toast or roll or pizza. my toast should be toasted, but still white and not brown. same with pizza. I hate it when it is crunchy.

in germany we usually have these thin and crunchy fries or these thick and soft fries. I like the second more.

in germany there are called "Pommes (Frittes)", but most times people just call them "Pommes" and sometimes "Fritten."

fun fact: my sister ate the fries in the past when they were frozen (frozen fries from the supermarket).

in berlin you can buy "Currywurst mit Pommes Rot/Weiß", which means currywurst with fries and mayo and ketchup.

This is Autism Forums. We are all supposed to be all-or-nothing black-or-white thinkers. How dare you break the stereotypical mold!

I love them, a favorite food. I like them best with ketchup. I wish I could eat all I want but they make me too full and thirsty. I have not had them for a long time.

Here is a link to a video that helped me understand. I hope it is okay for me to show you this link. It is for a video on Youtube explaining how the brain works in regards to eating.

Fries are not a health food, but an occassional treat. That is why I like mine done in tallow. I once had some done in duck fat and they were suberb. A pox on vegetable oils. I swear that the fries I had at a McDonald's in Milan were done in tallow. Good for them. Tallow gives fries an unami that vegetable oils cannot. So savory!

Please do not overlook Quebec's contribution to the world of pommes frites, namely, Poutine. It is french fries with cheese curds covered in a beef gravy. I once had passable Poutine at a micro brewery in Blowing Rock, N Carolina, while on a motorcycle trip on Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway from Port Royal, VA, to Cherokee, TN.

I clicked the choice, I clicked vote.

Wait a moment...

...Yep, I'm the only one who picked "hell no" at this point. As expected.

Seriously I always seem to be the only one that dislikes a lot of foods that everyone else seems to eat, without having any exceptions to that rule. Like, I dont eat fries or hamburgers, and there's no specific situations where that changes.

Off topic: Feel like Food/Diet could have its own forum section. Or would that count under Interests/Hobbies? :p

Five Guys regular, Arby's curly, McDonald's when hot and soft.
I can't stand crinkle cut or thin crispies either.
Agree with @Shaddock fries, bread, pizza, rolls, all must be soft to enjoy.

I voted Hell no.

As a type 1 diabetic, I passionately avoid insulin resistance.

As @Au Naturel says, potatoes are good for you. Insulin resistance, which is very bad for everyone, but acutely bad for T1D's, is induced by fat.

The bulk of anything fried is fat. The potato in french fries is simply a carrier of that fat. The potato itself actually has very little fat. So little that potatoes cannot make anyone fat; its the frying and toppings that do that. The potato is only the added fat vehicle, but, unfortunately, always gets the blame.
