Do you ever find yourself lost in the world of your favorite game and struggle to keep it separate from real life?
One of my favorite games is Sims 3, and for the past few weeks, I've been playing a game where me and my girlfriend, with similar traits to real life, are living together (as we do in real life). Things have been going really well in the game, but I got bored with it. So today, I created new Sims for my girlfriend and me (this was not my best move...), and right off the bat I got rejected because of my Sim's trait of "socially awkward." In real life, I know my girlfriend is cool with my awkwardness and actually finds it adorable. She likes my quirks because they make me unique. The rejection in the Sims feels so real, even though I know it isn't real at all. I feel really down right now because I'm having problems separating real life from my gaming world.
