Gifted+ADHD+Asperger's Syndrome ?

Hello!

I wonder whether I may have Asperger's syndrome.

When I was younger, my parents thought I might have mild autism. The doctor we saw said that it wasn't possible to determine whether I had autism or not yet, but that it still was possible.

My parents had to tell me several times when I was younger, that people expected me to look them in the eye when talking to them. Now I can look most people in the eye if I don't forget it. However, although I don't know why, I sometimes feel really uncomfortable, with some people

I learned to draw pretty well, but otherwise I'm quite clumsy. I have a quite poor handwriting, and I've been told several times I had an unusual gait, especially when running.

I would suggest, your parents should arrange a visit with a physiatrist to fully evaluate you. In my opinion as a parent of an AS, you appear to be borderline and therefore, self evaluation will only put you under stress. You are too young and have a beautiful life ahead. So, don't waste your energies on the self assessment quizzes, see a physiatrist as soon as possible . Best of luck!!!

P.S: Please note this is only my personal opinion. Only a trained physiatrist can make a diagnosis.

It does seem you may very likely have either A.S. or H.F.A. Or possibly you could be someone who has an unusually high I.Q. for your age and experiencing problems relating to "normal" people.
My advice would be the following: Keep your mind open and carefully gather as much information as you can about aspergers and HFA. This website will help as you can discuss things with other people and get some idea of how you relate to them.
Aspergers is basically classed as a kind of autism that supposedly makes us all kind of defective in our ability to relate to other human beings, understand "hidden" social language (i.e. expressions, cues, body language, even faces). For this reason we grow up in a kind of isolation and are usually left out by the group. We have motor skills clumsiness, are sensitive to noise, have occasional tantrums or huge mood swings, feel uncomfortable in certain clothes, scrawly handwriting, and stims (such as rocking, flapping, awkward body movements). Above all we have very strong special interests that absorb a lot of our time. Most of us learn in a different way to other people (called visual thinking).
It may took you a while to work out if you have aspergers or not. Psychologists can help but my own feeling is it's a better approach to try and find some kind of Aspergers Support group where you can meet people who have aspergers and that way learn more about it.
