So what was the last gift/present/free thing you received?
Since it's Christmas at the moment, thought I'd make a good place to share all that. :P

I've got exactly what I've asked for and then some :) did you get everything you wished for?

Hi kasmanaft08...

This year was a dead holiday season; Part of me doesn't care and the other part of me is depressed by it and feels guilty for not participating-- How can such polar feelings exist at once in one brain? :|

I had to work all of Christmas eve day and all day on Christmas Day. I work for a media company: All of my work is done remotely, online, and there is no stopping for holidays. I don't mind, though. I like my work.

So the question about presents, eh? I cannot say and won't. The subject is taboo in my mind now. :nah:

But I actually like giving presents (even though I sometimes give strange ones or awful ones) but beyond that- thats how I feel about other holiday traditions like dinners and all that. I don't particularly like to be bothered with it. I think to some people that may come off a bit shallow, but eh. I'm the same with birthdays, really.

I had a really good holiday actually. Best Christmas Ever.
Been in the UK so there's that, got passport papers on the way, saw family, met a boy :D

Presents were nice also...money, Amazon card, and plenty of stock up on American/Japanese groceries.

Now I can think about my next steps...:D

I also like giving presents but abhor receiving them; It's embarrassing and there is the expectation of one's reaction upon opening it. No no.

It kinda feels "weird" mentioning it, but I pretty much broke even with x-mas this year. In general I don't care that much about spending money on gifts (and actually x-mas feels a bit forced).

But I gave my parents and my aunt a 15 euro coupon (which are the only people around each year during x-mas) and they pretty much gave me (combined) 45 euro in cash. It feels kinda weird if I put it side to side like this but this is pretty much the same as last year. Should mention that it is the first year that I actually care a bit about spending cash on gifts either way, probably cause of the unemployment situation I'm in...

It's funny how I read people getting amazon or itunes gift cards... it's one of those presents my parents would never give me, because they never used amazon nor itunes (and probably never will; I don't even know if they know what amazon or itunes actually is)

I got a nice Hanukkah present from my boyfriend.

It's a poisonous snake skeleton, I've been wanting it for months. It is incased in glass, now on my desk back in the USA.
Not the best picture but it's very cool.
