Giving up soda.

I already gave up alcohol and energy drinks.

Now I am giving up soda and all that damn corn syrup.

I already noticed my mood is starting to improve after one week.

Soda basically is liquid candy. Most of my calories came from liquids and therefore were empty.

Say, that's pretty clever! I never thought much about the concept of empty calories, but you're right drawing a correlation between alcohol & sugar & fat.
You're probably going to do fine! If it's only taken you a week to boost mood this much I can only imagine how much better you'll be doing shortly.

Congratulations. That's a good step to make. Have you experimented with non-carbonated herbal concoctions as a healthier substitutes? Taking organic powdered ginger and steeping it can be consumed hot or cold (over ice) and when things like lemon are added it makes it all the more enjoyable. Add some sugar-free natural sweetener like stevia and you probably wouldn't crave soda any longer. You'd also have the satisfaction of knowing what you're drinking and that you made it yourself. Hot ginger tea has a wonderfully nice "bite" to it that you'd like if you like spicy foods.

In fact, I've convinced myself to make a hot cup of it right now!

Glad to hear that dropping soda is working for you~

I am a fellow ex-soda drinker, myself. I honestly was afraid I could never kick the stuff, but ever since I tried doing a cleanse for the first time I have felt better and the cleanse actually helped kill my craving for soda. I've only done it one other time, but it's helped regulate and even heal my body of a lot of bad stuff.

I went the extra mile and started dropping caffeine almost completely. I drink decaf coffee on occasion, but outside that it's been water and orange juice otherwise.

I have a friend with benefits who is ginger, and he is tasty.

I also like ginger tea, now that I got that statement out of the way.

Proud of you always believe in yourself <3

I occasionally drink soda/pop/fizzy drinks, but not the kind with sugar. Only if it is with Stevia instead.

Great job giving up things that aren’t good for you! :) Keep up the good work.

I hate soda except for ginger ale and Sprite. It’s rare but I will occasionally drink cream soda or fruit flavored soda.
I just don’t like how sugary it is, and it makes me really bloated and makes me fart lol

Its really sad they can get away with using high fructose corn syrup instead of real sweetener in some parts of the world. :(

Good on you for giving up unhealthy stuff.

I personally don't think I could completely give up soda, but I only drink it once every week or two these days and that's it. I usually have water otherwise and if I'm really craving something carbonated, I buy these flavored sparkling waters at Publix. They're like 89 cents for a liter, pretty good value imo.
