I'm using Windows 7 with Office . . . I think. To be honest, I don't know what half the stuff on this computer is for. On my old computer I had Outlook Express, which I think was a separate program. Hopefully one of our resident gurus will weigh in and offer some insight.

Yahoo mail, which I have, has been awful lately with lots of problems. I'd love to have outlook so I can see if mails are read by receivers. Can I get it if I don't have word?

You may be able to go to the Windows site and see if it's something you can download. Hopefully one of our resident gurus will weigh in and offer some insight.

You might consider downloading Windows Live Essentials/Mail. Though you'll have to download it from a source other than Microsoft as they technically no longer support it. As I recall it was a more advanced product than Outlook Express.

@LucyPurrs Gmail > Yahoo, simply for the fact your account doesn't expire if you don't use it for 90 days. I used to use Yahoo as a throwaway email address for signing up to gaming forums a few years back.

Thanks Rich, I already have gmail as well as yahoo. Wanted Outlook primarily to be able to know when someone has read an email I sent.
