Hello fellow forumites,

Just a quick note of introduction, and a word of thanks for all of the helpful insights on this site. At 55 years old I've always known that something was a bit off, and over the course of many years (decades), I have learned to accept my uniqueness. Granted, life is not without its challenges, but it's quite a relief to know that there are many others out there who are wired the same way.

I came here looking for more awareness as to why I still walk through life with the eyes of a child, yet with the soul of an old man. My hope is that I can learn to change the things which I can, and be more accepting of the things which will be with me forever.

Anyway, thank you all for sharing your challenges as we walk through our day to day routines. (I like routineness by the way). :)

Have a great day. All the best. "Moka"

Welcome, and what a lovely profile picture!:) And also a lovely description of your experience - young eyes, old soul.

Thank you all so much for the kind words, and for the very warm welcome. It really made my day. There's something very liberating about being able to be open about a condition which very few may understand outside of our immediate family members. I likewise hope to be able to share some of my insights and experiences if they may be of any help.

It took many years to come to a place of self acceptance, knowing that I am not defective, just a little unique. At the end of the day, this condition can truly be an admirable trait. Ultimately I believe that the creative mindset has helped me to become very successful in my line of work.

Thank you again to my welcoming committee friends.
....Fridgemagnetman, your are not alone. we have a collection as well. :) ...Aug 1st is a great b-day Streetwise (high five to your Mom!)... and thank you Ambi. That photo is a favorite.

One of my daughters took that of her black Lab. A pensive moment, staring off into the sunset. Something so readily easy to identify with. :)
she would like that up in heaven:)
