Good to be direct

Honesty is good but being too blunt is not so good. It depends on the situation. I think that certain behaviour can be hurtful even if it is meant in a kind way. I always go with the golden rule, but then I often end up peeing someone off anyway. *sigh*

Usually, people are not direct enough most of the time. It is generally better to be direct 1-1, but I agree it does depend on the context.

There is a situation where I was direct only because I was pried to no end. I ended up getting blamed by the person who asked me and a coordinator of a social group, and then basically banned from the group except for attending their beef and beer fundraiser and giving money to them, which I would no longer do.

Looking back, I don't regret being honest. I just wish I had remembered that he was using okC 4-6 months before that and had mentioned it at that time. So, how could he be using that and expect me to think he was necessarily just wanting to date me? Like he knew I was not interested, but used his jealousy to convince the social coordinator to kick me out because he was paying regularly for the membership and I did not have to pay regularly for the membership.
