Hi Everyone,

I had recently completed 3 Grand Theft Auto Games on Nintendo Switch, there are Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas!

Wow, I forgot they even put the trilogy on Switch. I bet the newer ones don't run on the hardware unfortunately!

Honestly, considering that both GTA IV and GTA V were available on PS3 and Xbox 360, the Switch could very likely run both games considering the system is more powerful than both of those systems.

The only problem, at least as far as GTA V is concerned, is that most of the money R* makes from the game these days is from GTA Online and the Switch couldn't handle that (like there's a reason why GTA V on PC nowadays is over 100 GB in size, it's cause of all the content updates for the online multiplayer - meanwhile the Switch just has 32 GB internal storage for the OG and Lite and 64 GB for the OLED and while you can buy microSD cards, no one is going to buy a 128 GB microSD just for one game, y'know?).

And sure, there's probably lots of people who'd still buy GTA V on Switch even with just the single-player and no multiplayer at all, but for Rockstar, it probably ain't worth the effort (even with the Switch being the 3rd best selling console of all time) considering they wouldn't be able to squeeze money out of Switch owners with online stuff.

I could almost see it as a possibility with the max SD card capacity, however I think I've already hit the upper limit with what I originally thought to be smaller games, so apparently they add up fast!

Some games do well pretty neutered, though -- Factorio has no mods, for one example (which is mostly why a lot of people play the game to begin with), but even an indie dev like Wube decided to go through with it anyway. I guess it all depends on what the developer has in mind, and with some of the older games I still find myself asking, "Did we really need another Oblivion / Skyrim / Minecraft on this console, too?".

Well Minecraft is the best-selling game in history, so it makes sense that they keep porting it to new consoles because of how popular it is. (Although I would like to note that the last consoles to get ports of Minecraft were the Switch and New 3DS back in 2017, which was six years ago. Not even a port for the PS5 or the current Xbox consoles yet, just backwards compatible versions from the PS4 and Xbox One on those systems - probably why they haven't released console-specific versions, since you can already play it on them.)
