Greatest Music Videos Ever!

I figured that I’d start a topic here on the best music videos and post them here for discussion. I have a pretty long list of what I think are the greatest and most influential music videos ever made. Some are classics from the MTV era of music and others are YouTube viewing staples. Remember these are my opinions and to make viewing easier, I’ll probably post one or two or sometimes three videos at a time and my thoughts on each of them.

Control- Janet Jackson

It may have been the fourth single from her album of the same name but I think this is the video that definitely shot Janet into super stardom. She didn’t need to rely on Michael’s influence on music and connections or her father as her manager to make it big in the industry. This video is the moment when she managed to literally take Control over her life and career and it paid off very well.

Here It Goes Again- Ok Go

Who knew that treadmills could do more than be exercise equipment. The dance movements are amazing considering the band is on top of a moving surface that could cause serious injury with one simple misstep.

I always loved this song and video growing up. I think I was in middle school when this came out… for some reason I have a clear memory of this one and Green Day’s “American Idiot” being some of the last televised music videos I saw, before YouTube. And the first one I ever saw on YouTube was O-Zone “Dragostea Din Tei.” Lol.

^^Actually, that’s a pretty iconic song and video too (at least for my generation.) So I’ll post that too.
O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei
(Some of you might know this as the “Numa Numa” song, if you’re my age or younger. Lol)
Like I said, this is the first music video I ever saw on YouTube, as far as I can remember.

Coffee + TV- Blur

Ive always thought the idea of a dancing milk carton interacting with a world that could easily destroy it was hilarious.

Vogue- Madonna

Another classic with some great choreography.

The best? This one always comes to mind. Great extravagant visuals, great music.

And murder with aforethought. Played to the hilt by Gwen Stefani.:cool::cool:

Crazy- Gnarls Barkley

The animation is really good and suit the song really well.

Smooth Criminal- Michael Jackson

The costumes are great and the choreography is excellent as usual. And this did inspire an entire video game.
