Hello!

I have been lurking on Aspie forums ever since my counselor tentatively diagnosed me with AS a couple months ago. This was a bit upsetting at the time! There is a strong history of poor mental health in my family but that diagnosis was out of the blue. I am unsure about the validity of the diagnosis because I lack some important traits (and as you can see autism isn't in my family) but I do have some things in common with Aspies and I have always been aware that I am different from other people. Even if I don't actually have AS, the AS-type traits that I have have explained a lot in why I am different.

I've enjoyed lurking on this forum and hopefully I can enjoy participating too. Hopefully you don't mind that I'm a rather half-baked Aspie :).
