My name is Christy, and I've recently been diagnosed as an aspie. I'm a 31yo female.

In person I can be pretty quiet, which is probably why its taken so long to find out I'm an aspie. It's taken some recent tough events and for my ability to function normally at work to fall apart for me to finaly persue the question as to why it's so difficult for me compared to others.

So, here I am. I'm looking forward to finally talking with some people who I can understand...

Yes, it's amazing to find so many people to instantly relate to having spent a lifetime of alienation from a world I couldn't really understand. Until now...

I was in the same situation a few years ago. The sudden rush of clarity was a little alarming at first, but I found people who have helped me understand this part of myself. I'm sure you'll learn more about yourself too.

Welcome Christy. I although I'm male, I too am 31. I was 22 when I found out I had Asperger's. I've met some amazing people here in my three weeks I've been here. You're in good hands here, & once again, welcome.

Well put- "A sudden rush of clarity". It is weird...combining a lot of mixed emotions. But the bottom line for me is that I'm glad I have such a concise answer to a burning question after all these years.

That certainly describes what I've experienced. It's a little surreal reading a list of traits and ticking off a lot of them and realising there's a reason I experience life differently to other people. It is such a relief.

I click so easily with the aspies I've emailed with since. I feel like I've finally found people who don't complicate everything!
