Are the supermarkets upside down, like how all of Australia is?There's 2 major supermarket chains here. Coles and Woolworths.
But of course. Are the supermarkets upside down, like how all of Australia is?
Wow, I wouldn’t shop anywhere that the staff asked me personal questions! That hasn’t happened at the one near me although they are a bit annoyingly friendly and overly positive. I’m so sorry that happened to you! There’s two small independent grocery stores near me that I frequent. I go to the grocery store quite frequently, but make very short trips and only buy a few things at a time.
The small grocery stores are more expensive, so occasionally I will go to the mega market, but I try to pop in and out as quickly as possible because it is very overwhelming.
I like the products and the prices at Trader Joe’s, but I’m certain that the staff there are trained to be excessively friendly. They are very invasive and I think they are required to ask at least one personal question per transaction. Across the board, they make comments about what’s going into the bag and then ask a question about something personal. I stopped going there. Too much.
Bahah these look great! Recently I saw a silly body scrub thing that had slightly sexual connotations XD Me and my friend were quite weirded out. It was unhinged. I go to IGA in Australia that's just down the road, there's many shops accessible nearbyAnd the supermarket I work at has some of the most bizarre ads I’ve ever seen.
Aww it's okay. There's this one girl that might recognise me from when I was a kid but we never talk so it's all good I got embarrassed recently when I recognised someone from when I was in school lol, wanted to hideWow, I wouldn’t shop anywhere that the staff asked me personal questions! The places I hate shopping at the most where I live are places where the staff remember me and act like they know me. It’s so awkward and weird.
No one here actually “knows” me, I make sure of that.
Oh no, seeing people from school is the worst lol!Aww it's okay. There's this one girl that might recognise me from when I was a kid but we never talk so it's all good I got embarrassed recently when I recognised someone from when I was in school lol, wanted to hide
Thank you for understanding! This one seems to be especially friendly. I’ve been asked multiple times, “so what are you up to today?” This was always a hard question for me when I was depressed, on drugs, and suicidal. “Ummm…,” I would say, “not much today.”Wow, I wouldn’t shop anywhere that the staff asked me personal questions! I secretly wish I did again, especially if it was someone I'm actually friends with. But in some other cases... NO. THANKS. *blushes and hides away* >///<Oh no, seeing people from school is the worst lol!
I’m pretty sure everyone I went to high school with is now married with kids, so they probably no longer care that I exist and have no reason to bother me.
It gets better when you get older because they probably won’t recognize you, and usually no longer want to mess with you.
Like I said, I live in a small town, people talk a lot. The less people know about me, the better chances I have of not getting bullied, or having people pretend to be my friends :/
Yeah, me too (not with those emotions). I usually reply with "Not much" instead of good. Once, I said "mediocre." Sometimes with "not much" I say that cause I know the other person doesn't actually want to know what I'm doing. It's just a polite question and answerThank you for understanding!
