Fella?s, some hairy questions:

What is the best haircut you ever had?
Does long hair suit an older bloke?
Why do blokes who are going bald shave it all off when that is going to be the end result anyway?

Ladies, some questions for you too:

What male hairstyle do you ladies prefer on your bloke?
Do girls think that long hair suits an older guy?
If your man was going bald or receding would you want him to shave it or leave it as is?

I don't know what's the best I ever had.

I like my hair now, but it does require some product in it to not make me look I just got out of bed. So sometimes I just wear a beanie if I have to make a quick run to the supermarket. But, in the past I've had long hair, I had partially bald with a large strip in the middle into a ponytail, Had braids/dreadlocks of sorts for a while, then I went entirely bald. Then I grew it back, did a mohawk of sorts. Haven't been to a barber for over 15 years actually. I cut my hair myself, I dye it myself. But in general I always had haircuts that required some kind of work in order to look "good". I never had a normal cleancut though... I just feel it doesn't fit me. Well, technically, I might have something resembling it, when I grew back my hair, but never planned on having it.

Perhaps the bald was "the best". But I went through razors each day cause if I want to be bald, I want it to be bald everyday, and not have short hair coming out. I remember when I was bald, due to me being a rather big guy, I used to have less problems with bouncers at clubs, probably cause I might look like I'm in that profession as well. However, being bald is linked to skinheads around here, so it does really matter how you might dress. Thus wearing combat boots & hoodies is a big no no. While if you have long hair, you're being labeled different. It's that silly regarding haircuts.

Does long hair suit an older guy? I think it depends. Long hair has to look good on you.

And the receding hairlines thing; I don't like the look of it. My hairline is receding a bit, but not enough to hate it and do something about it. To me it looks like an unfinished haircut or so. Besides; I rather have control over my haircut instead of my body telling me "oh hey... I'm turning bald a bit".

I think hair style has to match the face :) what I mean is - a hairstyle will look better if it matches a shape of your face and also - type of your hair, try to ask a stylist, he/ she might give you some advice. I wouldn't suggest to go to the cheapest salon, going to the most expensive one is not necessary either (unless you're rich), you can find something in between. I've noticed that if stylists's hair look good she/ he usually styles well.

in my opinion, long hair looks good on any guy if his hair is really good, or at least relatively good (no bald spots). The only thing is, long hair is a commitment, I think your outfit and attitude have to match the hairstyle and, I think, long hair styles are more demanding. The same goes for any kind of unusual hairstyles.

If my husband goes bald, I would want him to cut it very short but not bald, I'm not sure if it's going to look good on him. I think you have to have a right head and face shape for a bald head. He cut his hair very short a couple of times, it looked kinda cute :)

My dad has been bald (a half of a head) since he was 30 something, he just has a normal hair cut. But he also has a beard and glasses, sort of looking like a stereotypical professor. And it's kinda nice, if he was completely bald it would be weird I think.

Yeah... I guess bald head is sort of a commitment as well, not only style but also maintenance wise.

My best haircut ever came from a guy at an ultra-cheap salon. He honestly looked like he just got out of prison. Not only did he do a great job, he gave me like a five-dollar discount on it as well. I never went back because it was a fluke I was there in the first place - I only go to that neighbourhood maybe once per year.

Long hair on an older guy says one of two things: "aging professor" or "aging hippie". If you're going for either of those, go ahead.

At some point male pattern baldness looks terrible, and combing it over looks worse. At that point, it's time to go bald because it's happening anyway.
