Hi:) My name is line/lina.
I was diagnosed first time, february 2016 with aspergers and add and finally diagnosed in may this year with only aspergers.
The first time i was diagnosed, i thought: the rumors are true.... the psychiatrist is more crazy then i am.... Aspegers???? But after many conversations with family and a few close friends and many hours of thorough investigation of my thought patterns it started to settle, and only 2 weeks ago i accepted that i have aspergers.

Hey Lina... welcome
Lots of nice people here to toss stuff around with : )

'Lo Lina and welcome! You've come to the right place, you can be as open as you want over here and we'll always be there for you. This place is filled with lovely people...actual people with hearts and souls! So many people in this world just plain suck nowadays, and it makes my blood boil.

I pretty much guessed that I have Asperger's before I even went to my psychologist for the first time. I've came across it on the internet by accident and decided to take a brief look at the description - but boy oh boy, what a discovery! So many of the symptoms in the description just plain matched what I've been struggling with my entire life...

Another clue was a coworker mentioning it to me. She knew what it was and suggested that I find out if I have it. I took me 30 years to finally see a therapist, and that's an awfully long time to start doing that after KNOWING that I've been struggling. What did I do instead, before visiting? I kept waiting for that magical moment...that moment where it all goes away and I can finally live in this accursed world without constantly falling into a pit. What I found out was - who was I kidding? Only myself. I've never been able to deal with any of it on my own, and no one was ever able to snap me out of it - so I've pretty much been sweeping it all under the rug.

So after observing my behavior and getting me to take the AQ test, my doc told me that I'm extremely likely to have Asperger's, and that a formal diagnosis is not necessary. He and I are currently working on making me fit better into the NT world. We've dealt with a certain aspect of my anxieties, and I've been able to managed certain types - which include hit and run anxieties, becoming blind anxieties, certain forms of health anxieties, and certain forms of abandonment anxieties. We also went over some social aspects, including wearing my dress shirts without buttoning the top and not bulk-texting my friends every single day and demanding too much from them. This is only the beginning...I feel like I'll need years of weekly sessions of therapy because I've been struggling sooooooo much socially and most definitely emotionally.

I've had particular interests in my life which include streetlights, sprinklers, construction sites, Isuzu tow trucks, bottle caps, integer divisibility, and 4-digit integers that start with the number 9. What are your interests?

Welcome to the group, Line.
This is a great place where we are all open and try to help by sharing experiences.
