Have you ever tried a 4DX screening on a movie at the cinemas?

I'm interested to see what you guys think about this if you've experienced it.

For those of you who don't know what 4DX is, it's a multi-sensory cinema experience that you get for certain films; usually involving your chair moving around, scents, water, strobe lights, etc.
There's more information about it here: 4DX , 4DX

Have any of you ever gone through a 4DX cinema experience, and what was your opinion of it if you have?

LOL. Sure....a very long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Not exactly "4DX" though. ;)

No, it wasn't Star Wars. It was the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The only multi-sensory cinema experience I've ever had compared to any other film. Where the audience and not the producers brought life inside the theater far beyond merely what was happening on screen. As soon as the rain scene appeared, I began to feel real water spritzing all over me...wondering what in the world was going on. And it got better- and wilder from there.

Totally unique experience for me. But I was only a spectator. Hopefully some past "participants" can elaborate on this experience as well. A time when even "low-tech" rocked!

The only thing I can think of that's similar to that is the theater at Jordan's Furniture and it terrified me. It was such a bad experience that I refused to go in there again for years.
But it's called the "MOM Ride" which is hilarious. Lol

No idea why they decided to have this attraction at a furniture store.

I've done the "Fly Over Canada" ride in Vancouver.

It's a 15 minute simulated flight across Canada (sometimes you get a bonus 5 minutes of something else), with mists as the video swoops down at Niagara Falls, and some scents (like maple) where appropriate.

I thought it was kind of fun, and had prepared by reading about it and what to expect, though I was still taken by surprise when the seats first got lifted and tilted - the speed and angle of some of the movements were definitely more than I expected.

I had forgotten about it, but another 4D experience in Western Canada is the Pehonan Theatre at the Alberta Legislature (Edmonton, AB). This one is an 11 minute video that comes with smoke, wind, rain, and snow. No moving seats for this one though. Bonus is that it's free and screens every half hour, when they're open, no reservations required.

The producer's website gives a preview of that it's involved.
