Have you used a life coach to achieve your goals?

I'm trying to get a life coach right now because it seems impossible for me to achieve my goals by myself. Usual talk therapy doesn't really work, it doesn't solve anything. I think life coaching could be a good alternative. Any thoughts?

I have not used one myself, but I have heard both good and bad things about them. The biggest thing that I have heard is that this is pretty much an unregulated profession (meaning no standards) so that almost anyone can set themselves up as a "life coach". I would think that you would be safest going with someone that is known and recommended in your community, for example, if you got a referral from your doctor or someone similar. As in anything, do your homework.

Thanks for the reply. I found one (already went to the 1st meeting). The guy was on my medical insurance website. And a person from my local autism organization keeps track of everything. Hopefully everything goes well and I don't get stuck in endless analysis...
