Having Neurological and Gastrological Problems

I am new to this forum. I am a 40 year old with Aspergers and for almost twenty years, I have been experiencing on-and-off neurological symptoms such as lightheadedness upon standing or walking and gastrological problems. Over the years they tend to come and go; mostly these symptoms lasted for a few weeks and then they gradually subside over time. However, in recent months, these symptoms have become frequent once I turned 40. Starting in mid-February, I first was having moderate to severe nausea for days, mostly felt at night around bedtime, then few weeks later, escalated into intense lightheadedness, loss of balance, and feeling of faint while standing or walking. Then new symptoms emerge such as tremors and tingling felt in my arms, hands, and feet.(These tremors felt like my hand is loose like a rubber band, and sometimes my arms and legs jerk by itself). I can also felt vibrations in my brain while I was lying down, sometimes disrupting my sleep. These symptoms became so problematic that I have been bedridden for days, sometimes weeks, and kept me from going out(i.e. shopping, spending time with family). also I have to walk with a cane to maintain my balance as I was feeling faint all the time. Medications didn't seem to help.

So I am wondering if anyone who is in the Autism spectrum has the same symptoms as mine?

Check your blood pressure mine dropped today resembles what I just read for low pressure. I check my pressure daily monitor it statistically. your symptoms match what I just read like straight from the medical textbook.

It seems like a medical professional would really need to run some tests. Sorry to read about you going thru this.

I have been experiencing on-and-off neurological symptoms such as lightheadedness upon standing or walking and gastrological problems.
I had a very similar problem but a bit more severe. I wasn't just getting light headed and dizzy, I was passing out and collapsing. One bloke said I went down like a felled tree. On several occasions I broke bones when I hit the ground.

Doctors could find nothing wrong with me and their reactions ranged from treating me like a hypochondriac to telling me to my face that I was a liar and making up stories. This went on for more than 15 years. I gave up on seeing doctors, complete waste of time. I even started resetting my own bones, occasionally getting other people to help me when I needed it.

It wasn't until I learnt about autism that I started putting things together but it was still very difficult. They are just panic attacks. It took me a long time to accept that they were stress related because my reactions were delayed. I was passing out and hitting the floor several days after the event that had caused me stress.

Eventually these panic attacks started happening immediately at the time that I was being stressed out and it wasn't until then that I was able to work out what was going on.

I then turned full focus on removing as many stressful factors from my life as I could, and I was pretty successful at that. I was always very good at anything I decided I want to do. These days I'm on a pension and I live in social housing, I'm officially retired. I'm not beholden to anyone and I have no responsibilities of any kind. I live quietly by myself and spend most of my time just kicking back playing video games.

I haven't had a panic attack since mid 2019.

I guess we are on the same page. Mine is a little bit different because it also involves some gastrological problems, in particular, nausea. Sometimes the nausea became so severe I was on the verge of throwing up at any moment, but I haven't thrown up in about 30 years. I believe that the fear of wanting to throw up may be what is behind the reason of my chief neurological symptoms(lightheadedness, feeling of faint, tremors). When these symptoms first started almost 20 years ago, Also had head tremors and tingling which causes concern that these may be seizure related. I had up to three EEG tests, including the visual where I had to stay for one night at a hospital, and they found nothing abnormal. Also had EKG, Electrocardigram. Everything is normal. However, as for the gastrological issues I am currently having, I just had an endoscopy done last year and my gastroenterologist found out that I have an hiatal hernia that may be causing these symptoms. I am sorry to say this, but again these symptoms totally disrupted my life that I couldn't go out shopping or do some outdoor activities.

Also, what type of herbal supplements and if any medications do you take in order to control the symptoms you are having?

None. Nothing at all like that. I drank a bit of alcohol and smoked a lot of weed my entire life but I make no excuses for that. I wasn't 'self medicating", I do it because I enjoy it. These days it's quite rare for me to have a drink but I still smoke a fair bit of weed.

My anxiety attacks started when I was in my late 30s, when I started burning out. Up until then I had been a very successful tradesman and I was the Production Manager for a print company.

What triggers them is social anxiety, people or situations I'm not able to cope with. I can be very sociable and I get along well with most people but there's always times when I just can't cope.

My older brother before he passed fell a few times he was a big guy 6'3, smacked his head brain damage. they put in apace maker thinking it was his heart, he died with a fractured skull, was it a fall or was it a stroke doctors could not tell.being a doctor is still an art not a science, learning that. They pretend it's a science and some is.
