Hell Let Loose - PC game. Can I play it alone?

The game is called, "Hell Let Loose", It is a PC game. I am confused. Can I play this game alone, with just AI to fight with? I cannot play with people online. I get nervous and I do not understand how to socialize with them. Is this a game I can play just against in-game AI?

Also, I am looking for new PC games I can play. I like FPS open world the best but if there is a neat adventure game with beautiful landscapes I would like that too. I do not like unbeatable bosses. I loved Lies of P, it was so beautiful and the mood, the lighting. The sounds too. But it was too hard for me to have fun. I never beat the first mini boss.

Thank you if you can help.

Did you play Stalker trilogy or 2? or Stalker Anomaly etc mod?
I can't play stalker 2 i don't have enough pc, but i play Anomaly with lots of addons, is fps open world.
The AI in the old games is very good.

The one in the video is not only specifically an online multiplayer game, it's also horribly complicated.

For what it's worth, you arent alone in not being able to deal with other players in games. I cant deal with them either. Like I can play a one-on-one fighting game with other people, but that's because the only communication is punching. The moment I have to talk with anyone, just.... yeah that's big nope.

I think you might like some of the more story-focused FPS games? Maybe? Like, designed specifically for single-player. It's hard for me to offer some direct suggestions since this is like *the* genre I dont touch myself. Heck, Steam says the last time I played a real FPS was like 5 years ago.

Stalker 2 seemed to get a lot of backlash at release for some reason.

Multiple people I know on Steam had a LOT to say about that one at release (which is why I know it exists). Not a word of it was good. Apparently it was released in a horrible state or something?

I do not know about Stalker 2 but I am going to look at it. I want some new games. I only play one now and I have played it too much. I think there has to be something else I would like. I do not like games that are have overcomplicated stories because the acting and graphics are not good enough and make it tedious and silly instead of bringing me into them. I think action games are done well because they are just fighting but I do not like the mechanics on most I have found.

I will look at Stalker 2.

Idk, i didn't play it i cant' because i don't have the hardware, but people always complain, it seems like a good game imo.

I used to play multiplayer some games, but between the toxicity in them, and me unable to make any social interaction or frienship, i stopped playing the experiences were mostly negative, though its fun to play against people.

I looked at Stalker 2. It looks wonderful but it is the most expensive game I have seen, $59.99 for the base game. I put it on my wishlist, I hope it will go on sale. The current price is too much for me.

Anomaly/EFP/Gamma, is Free, if you don't mind not having very latest graphics etc.

If that is safe I would do it so I could try the game, if I liked it I would buy it so the developers were paid. What is the address for that site and how does it work? I am not sure what a torrent it but I would not want to use one, I do not know enough about computers to stay safe.

Anomaly mod is free legally and safe, you don't need to purchase the original games, unless you would want to support them anyways, you can download from moddb, torrent is faster than normal download, but you need a program /torrent client i use "Tixati".

There are modpacks for anomaly if you don't care to use addons yourself.
like this one.
Escape From Pripyat (EFP 4.2) - S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly mod

This is too advanced for me. I do not know how to install mods. I had to do it a few years ago and I needed someone to come onto my PC and do it for me. I have learned a lot since then, maybe ChatGPT could give me the steps.

Anyway, if you can't install mods, the base anomaly mod is standalone, you just download it, unzip it somewhere and play. You are going to miss nice features without addons but you can play.

I will look at Stalker 2.

Most modern AAA games are going to be very heavy on stuff like story, cutscenes, acting, and so on. I dont mean like, they happen every 5 minutes, but they're usually a big element of the game (and often part of why a game takes up so much space). This absolutely goes for action games as well in most cases.

It's one of those things that is sort of expected by consumers overall. Big flashy elements and set piece moments. That leads to more units sold, so BOOM, in they go.

Even in games where they used to not have them, suddenly they have them now. Like, an old favorite series of mine is Monster Hunter, it's been around for ages, it's a huge series, and typically it was never big on story or cutscenes or whatnot. Most of the games gave you just enough to establish like "here's the world you're in, oh golly there's monsters the size of a house, you're a hunter, here's like a sword with a gun stuck to it or something, go hunt now" and then you could get right to the gameplay.

But the most recent one? Just... so much talking and cutscenes and blah blah blah. So, so much.

I dont care for those elements any more than you do, I'm usually like, okay, can we get to the Do Things parts already?

Also, since cost was mentioned: Most recent AAA games are going to go for $60 to $70 as a default price. That's pretty much always been the case, even back in the old days.

Very helpful, thank you.

I agree with you about the "can we get to the Do Things parts already?". I might like a story game some day, maybe if it were only story, just a movie to watch. If I am playing I do not care about the cutscenes. I have not been drawn into one yet. People say wonderful things about that cowboy game. People say they cried when it was over and I am so happy for them but I tried that game and got bored in seconds.

I like sneaking around, having to be quiet, and shooting things. I really did love Lies of P because of the beautiful atmosphere, it was wondrous, but the action was too hard for me. I still have the game but I lost interest because I could not beat the first mini-boss. That balance - hard but not too hard. It was too hard for me.
