Hi,
After decades of various psychological disorders I self-diagnosed myself about two years ago and finally got the official diagnosis of Asperger's (approximately a month or so ago.) It is still something I am trying to adjust to (I spent my life truly believing everyone thought/felt mostly the way I do/did.) And yet...I am relieved. Now so many pieces have fallen into place and I also don't have to fake things as much.

I look forward to posting/reading and getting back the feeling that I'm not THAT alone in the world.

Hi Adela! This is an excellent place to get information and support. Welcome to aspiescentral.

Thank you for the lovely welcome and from all I've read so far it definitely seems there's plenty of support & information. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute some help myself.:P

Hello Adela. I feel really happy to see you.

We are not alone, the world is really bigger than what we see out there. :D

Thank you all! I'm so glad to have found this forum and such great people on it, too.
Geordie! The world is bigger than whatever physical limits (and any limits on mental ability) exist out there!

Welcome to Aspies central Adela. It may take a while to work out where you are with the aspergers ( in terms of learning or accepting it). This will be a good place for you to learn and get support if you need it, all here a caring people unless they are under pressure the we support them, while they need it.

Hello, Adela! (Such a beautiful name you have!) We're happy to have you here.

Everything may still be new and stressful for you post-diagnosis, but believe me, it gets easier!

Thank you (and also to others' comments!)
It wasn't so bad at first. I had spent a year or two accepting my self diagnosis. And then toward the end and with the diagnosis confirmed...well, I had truly always thought people around me did almost everything similarly and so now fully knowing I had it wrong, acepting it? Wouldn't be as bad if people didn't bring up random things that just remind me of how very, very different I am. I like who I am but after x amount of it being shoved in your face? The tears come.

(sorry for the ramble and thank you all again.)

Hi Adela! Welcome to the forum. As you can see, you are among friends & you are by no means alone. I too dxed myself before getting a formal diagnosis early this summer. You may well be our first Argentinian member: I hope you are the first of many as Aspies are all over the world.
