Hello all!

whiskers

Active Member
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself briefly - one of my weaknesses is to go on and on into oblivion but I will spare you all from that!
My name is whiskers ( yes, I'm a cat lover) and I am a self diagnosed Aspie with a teenage son who has a diagnosis of Aspergers and a teenage daughter who is in the process of being diagnosed. I am so thankful that there is so much help for people nowadays who are on the autistic spectrum somewhere - when I was 16 I went to the doctors and 'confessed' how I was feeling and all I got was a tube of tranquilisers....that wouldn't happen now! I am in my 50's now btw and have been bobbing around just under the Asperger radar all of my life really, always feeling different, rarely fitting in, mad extremes of emotion, OCD, you name it and I've probably been there! Funnily enough although I have always been told that I'm different I can't say that it's really stood in the way too much, maybe I'm deluded there lol.
Anyway just wanted to say hello - this looks a great forum.

Hi there whiskers and welcome. Take a rest from bobbing and put your feet up.
Cheers
