Hello c:

Effy

self-advocating autistic
I'm Effy, a 23-year old creative from Texas. I blog and do a lot with blogging and things related to blogging.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at a young age, and before insurance ran out (and other mess), I was in the process of being reexamined for a diagnosis to see if Asperger's Syndrome is still accurate or if a different diagnosis on the spectrum fits more... not sure if that makes sense?

In a nutshell, I'm a clumsy spazz who freaks out over everything, as well as who over-analyzes everything, trips walking upstairs, runs into walls, and trips over flat services. I also am allergic to almost everything, but I don't live completely allergy-free, because I prefer to not be "Bubble Girl". I also suffer from severe anxiety, a phobia of law enforcement and authority, Major Depressive Disorder, and PTSD.

Anyways, erm, that's me. :p

Hello Effy,
No need to freak out here, you are among friends. We all have things that set us apart, or we would not be here, Aspies or not. I hope that, like me, you find your place here. I am at home here, simply because I actually fit in, and am accepted.
Looking forward to future conversations. Have a good day.

Hiya Effy! :D

Don't worry; you make sense. We all know about the label-shuffling the DSM-V did. I imagine that Asperger's wasn't phased out as a diagnostic term overnight, and people are still familiar with it. If it's truly going to be done away with, it will take at least a year or two for most people to adapt to the change.

hmm, severe anxiety, a phobia of law enforcement and authority, Major Depressive Disorder, and PTSD?
Now that's my kind of people. Welcome to the Spazzfest. :)

Welcome to AC...
sounds to me like you fit right in
hope to see you blog here soon!

Trust me...a Spazzfest would be nothing without the proper guidance of a true Master of Disaster ;)

Thanks for all the welcoming! :)

With the freaking out, I meant I spazz and over think everything. :p

Yeah... for me, it's not really having anything to do with the DSM-V's changing of things; it's just to check it for general reasons, because PTSD treatment for someone without an ASD differs from someone with one, and it's just something to help with treatment. :p
