My name is Joanna, I'm 26 years old from Athens, Greece. I was officialy diagnosed with AS at the age of 24, so this is still new to me. I'm planning of relocating to UK in a few months, to pursue my studies in Forensic Psychology. I've always knew that something is "different" with me, so I did an extended research, then I was self-diagnosed and then I had the official diagnosis. My family always had the idea that something "bad" or "wrong" was with me, luckily for the past 4 years I have an amazing partner that understands me and supports me. And then I found this amazing forum, and I hope that this will be the family I've been looking and searching for.

Welcome to AC Joanna,

Fascinating line of work you're going into, I shall look forward to hearing about it. You'll find a warm welcome here and a great bunch of people that add up to the best 'family' I have found so far.

Enjoy your stay :)

Hello Joanna,

There are degrees of Aspergers, so the term spectrum is applicable. Some can struggle more than others, such as in having and keeping relationships.

But I'm not one who sees most Aspie traits as "bad". I see them more as different and to be managed the best we can.

I grew up observing and understanding how every body is different in various ways, with different degrees or intensities in their differences. I lived 55 of my 59 years not knowing I was an Aspie, but definitely was. I was able to prosper, and encountered my share of life struggles like all do.

I hope you find some of yours ways are just different than the norm.

I like your area of study, my daughter has a degree in such. And she is a true Aspie. :)

That sounds like an interesting degree.
Also; you wouldn't happen to be a LARPer, would you? That's something I've always wanted to try.

Mae govannen.

By coincidence I just heard of Forensic Psychology for the first time a week ago. But I don't yet know what it means! :D
