Hi. I searched on the Google apps, hoping there would be a community like this, and I am really happy to find that there is one.

I have not undergone exams to be officially diagnosed, but I was referred by my general doctor to a psychologist who specializes on people within the autism spectrum. Initially, I thought I was in the wrong place and was very confused. I spoke with him, disclosed information, and I finally had the clarity I needed.

Currently, I am having trouble with my insurance and cannot continue the sessions, but I am doing my best to resolve that.

Prior to taking action and visiting a psychologist, I would stay in bed, awake, and wonder what steps I needed to take to begin my day and what I had to do to make it productive; I felt incompetent before I even started, and this feeling nearly drove me to disconnect from people.

Despite my family members discouraging me several times due to the stigma of having a child with aspergers sydrome, I have acquired the tools and motivation to improve myself. I want to return to school this year.
