Hello everyone

I thought I might have aspergers. I haven't had medical insurance since I was 14 so I haven't have a chance to get diagnosed.

I have had a lot of trouble in my life with making friends. A lot of the time I have only had one really close friend and then no other friends. It was always hard for me to keep friends around because I have never really been able to understand what they are going through.

Someone mentioned to me about the possibility of having this after a had a bad run in with an costumer service worker at a donut place. They thought I was just being mean to the person and I didn't understand what was going on. I have had a lot of trouble understanding what is going on a lot of the time.

I am really into Video Games and Mid Evil times. Things like Serial Killers and other phycolostical stuff interested me as well. I also have some GI Joes I got when I was a kid that I still play with every day.

I have only read stuff and took test on line to see if there was the possibility of me having this or not. It would explain quite a bit and I have already read some of the threads on here with people who have simular social anxiety issues and such as I do. I hope to learn much more about this. This is why I came to the forums. Nice to meet everyone.

How do you do?

Welcome to the forums, you should fit right in here.

I have only read stuff and took test on line to see if there was the possibility of me having this or not.

Don't base everything on those online tests. From what I've heard they aren't that great and should only be used as a rough guide. The best way to know if you have Aspergers is to do some research and see if you can relate to it. Then, a diagnosis would be a good idea to confirm.

Well as you said I have already done a quite a bit of research. I took the test first actually just to see how it would come out. I ended up getting scores like 33 out of 38 and 57 of 63 so I figured after that it was worth looking into. I got sorta obsessed with it and have been reading everything that I can get my hands on about it now. That is kinda how I ended up here. At this point for me I would like to get a diagnosis but I have no medical insurance and the soonest it looks like I will is in 2014 when my country moves to free medical. At that point I hope to go to a mental health specialist as I have a lot of problems with some of these things and would like to figure out how I can make some of my problems like the anxiety and such more managable. I read some stuff online about managing stress with aspergers and managing stuff like spacing out a lot and only wanting to do my interest even at work, but I am still finding it a little hard to understand what they are saying about helping it.

Welcome aboard to Aspies Central forums, in america if you don't have an insurance, iirc it seems to cost more than a thousand dollars just to get a diagnosis which I truly think is a little bizarre while in the UK, it's free.

That is why I haven't been to the Doctor since I was 14. Even the stupidist things in the States cost and extremely high amount of money. I went to urgency care about a growth on my arm and they charged me 100 dollars and all they did was refer me to a skin doctor with out any explaination.
