Hello everyone!
My name is Kayla. I'm 26 and live in rural Indiana.
I'm so happy to have found this forum. I haven't been officially diagnosed, but my husband and I both believe I have Asperger's. I've been very different from everyone I know my entire life, but I never knew why. I happened to marry an incredibly social, outgoing man and as you can probably imagine this has resulted in some pretty intense arguments over my behavior. After one particularly bad fight, in which he pointed out some things about me that I had already had a feeling were different from normal, I decided to do some research and found a description of AS that basically summed up my entire life.
At this point I don't feel like I need to get officially diagnosed (money is sort of tight and I don't get much time off work), but since my husband is so socially uninhibited he is helping me develop the skills I never learned growing up. He doesn't understand everything though, and sometimes I just find it impossible to explain to him how my brain works so he thinks I'm just being a jerk.
I'm really excited to be able to talk to people with the same issues that I have. I have many problems I'd like to get past (or at least work on) and I think a little personal understanding may go a long way.
