Hi,parent of a son with what I can only presume is aspergers(his cousin has asperger's) he went to get diagnosed when he was 7 but they said they couldn't find anything,he is 17 now and life has been really difficult for everyone lately, what I'm seeking is a recommendation for a diagnosis in the lower Hudson valley/NYC area,I don't know if I ask for that here or another part of the forums, thanks

Hello, welcome to the forum! This is a nice place to reach out for support and assistance so I hope you feel welcome and get some answers here. I used to live in western New York, and I do know places there that diagnose for Autism and related conditions, but for places near you, you may want to check the below link from a quick search I did. It seems like there are several Autism diagnosticians there to choose from, within 50 miles of Newburgh, NY I think.

Welcome. Get in touch with AANE.org They're located on the east coast and very familiar with New York services for autism. They also offer a free 30 minute phone consult where you can talk to an expert, explain your situation and they will offer assistance. I've used the 30 minute phone consult and can attest to the fact that there are no strings attached, no obligation for services and they do not try to sell you anything. It's well worth checking out.

I sent you a message privately to give you more specific information. I detailed there what we did in terms of Insurance, costs and locations. I hope that information will help you. Feel free to reply there.
