Hello, I'm new here

Hi, I'm Therese and I'm new here. I found this site by Googling questions specific to living with autism as a mature adult. I struggle with a lot of the things most other people take for granted, and I feel so awkward and out-of-place...like I don't belong anywhere. I live in a rural area and I have not been able to meet anyone else that seems to understand the unique perspective of being neurospicy LOL! Anyway, here I am. I love cats, nature, art, music, astrology, and all things paranormal. I hope to find some comfort in knowing I'm not the only person who struggles with day-to-day things like finances, personal interactions at work, employment in general, and lots of other things depending on the day. I also have ADHD and C-PTSD - extra spices ;) LOL

It's nice to meet you Therese, welcome to the forum. This place has been very helpful to many of us, join in and discover you're not as alone as you thought.

Hello and welcome to the eccentric spice rack! Hope you benefit from your time here. Glad you found us.

Welcome to the forums, Therese! I think you'll like it here. There are many others who struggle from the issues you mentioned and similar interests. There's even an outdoors and a pets&animals subforum if any of the threads in there spark your interest! Hope you enjoy your time spent on here!

Many of us have artistic leanings or perhaps heightened appreciation. Pets are a very common love among us too I believe.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums

We are an interesting and various group in here, (lots of different spices in here).

Hi, Theresa, Welcome. The community here is quite understanding and helpful. For myself, I feel more crispy around the edges than spicy. I live in a rural area too, yet I am finding it generally easy to belong as the attitude here is one of tolerance since we do have a lot of interesting characters in our small community.

Hi Therese, welcome! :)
We have a lot of interests and hobbies (and diagnoses) in common so I’m very much looking forward to getting to know you! :)

Welcome to our community.
Your interests in cats, nature, art, music and all things paranormal are the same as
mine.

Cats...yes, especially black cats!

I feel this is where I differ from many on the spectrum--pets have no place in my head. I cannot relate to those who want to or like having pets.
