Hello, I'm new to the site. What obsessions do other people have?

Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome!

I love comedy. :) We should start a thread in the 'Obsessions and Interests' section.

Pokémon. Ever since I played the original game in high school. Back then I was so hooked on it that I actually skipped sleep several times - on school nights no less - trying to finish it and when the first sequels came out I did it again.

These days, it kinda comes and goes. I'll go through periods where I'll play one (or more) of the games constantly, watch a let's play, watch a bunch of episodes of the anime, etc., then after awhile I take a break from it until the next period of obsession.

Since 2016 is the 20th anniversary of the franchise, I've considered trying to make a documentary/tribute about it where I would actually do the job properly and ask The Pokémon Company for permission to use game and anime footage, try and contact voice actors, people who worked on the games and prominent fans for interviews, and so forth. Don't know if I'm gonna do it 'cause the amount of work I'd have to put into it seems kind of daunting, but it would be a cool project to try and work on.

Hello AmazonQueen21, welcome to our community :)
This is a good place to chat about interests - as many of us are quite obsessive about some interests you will find a lot of understanding here.

I fell in love with Excel the first time I used it, and I still love working with it for hours. Due to circumstances I also got to work with Numbers, which has some nice features, but Excel still beats it for blissful enjoyment.

Welcome aboard!
My obsessions are
Acrylic painting,

Jefferson nickels and especially the errors/ over dates/ over mint marks/ and silver ones from 42-45.

Medicinal cannabis,

History,

Old American muscle cars,

Electricity,

The quest for financial independence/ lucrative self employment.

What kind of examples of comedy?
I am quite partial to Maria Bamford, as I love her rambling style and how candid she is with her mental illness. I also like comedians who are good at storytelling, like John Mulaney and Mike Birbiglia.

Since I had my disabled daughter who's now 6 months old, I've thrown myself into learning everything I can about her condition, Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome. Since realizing I most likely have Asperger's, Asperger's. I've always been a "flavor of the month" obsessive person. Growing up, it was everything from dinosaurs to astronomy to specific movies, like watching Grease over 20 times.
