Hello, I’m new

Hello! My name is Julie. I am a late diagnosed adult with Autism. I am 24 years old and received my official diagnosis this year. Growing up was very difficult. I never felt like I fit in anywhere. I always wondered what was wrong with me and didn’t understand why I felt so different from everyone around me. Finally, after 24 years I’m beginning to understand why I’ve struggled so much. It’s new and scary but also very comforting to know there’s a reason for why I am the way I am. I currently have no friends with ASD so I’m looking forward to meeting new people who can relate to me and understand me. I’d love to be your friend if you’d like to be mine :)

Welcome Juliee!
I was very late diagnosed - 58.
It was hard for me growing up and I guess I never really did.
I was glad to finally find out why I was the way I was and yet it was difficult to wrap
my mind around at the same time.

When I joined the forum though, I was amazed to find so many topics and other people
who had the same experiences it was like reading my life story.
I don't have any friends now or family left, so I come here and it helps.
Hope you enjoy it here too. :)

Welcome to the Forums! I hope you make new friends and enjoy your stay in the process! :)

Hi, new member myself here, with no people in the spectrum in my personal life as well, so i can relate.
I never felt like I fit in anywhere. I always wondered what was wrong with me and didn’t understand why I felt so different from everyone around me.
Dont you ever worry about that. Theres nothing wrong with us people in the spectrum, its just the way we are born. As we grow older we need to slowly adapt and accept to ourselves as instead to society. You will have to live with yourself for the rest of your life, as nobody else or society does not. Be nice to yourself, and try to treat yourself as your best friend first before anybody else.

Hope u find what ur looking for and make new friends along the way
