Hello Everyone...

my son is 7 and recently disgnosed with Aspergers..Im at a totally loss and researching everything.. :(

Sometimes i think they have it wrong he is just my (name).. Then sometimes i think he is....

Is this normal for a first diagnosis...!!!
 
I think so, there is always denial, shock and/or loss when some doctor says, 'the tests performed on (your son) showed he has... Autism'.

I wish you and your family the strength to overcome the pain of the diagnosis, for there is indeed a life ahead for Aspies, Auties and so on.
 
Take a big deep breath. The diagnosis isn't a loss of life its about gaining it with extra help. He will do great things I am sure. Aspies and Auties are the same kids they were before the diagnosis you just have a name for it now. You just have more resources to understand it better. I am not a mother, but I have a friend who's family gone through the same thing you have. This is completely normal, and sometimes it is difficult to accept at first the hard truth. All I can suggest is research as much as you can on asperger, and try talking to the school so they may help him too. Just be patient and be there for your son.
