got my official diagnosis today, diagnosing lady mentioned some autism communities, thought i'd join one and this was pretty much the first one in google. so here i am.
it's been two years since my initial assessment, so i've had ages to come to terms with being autistic and was kinda expecting the official diagnosis to say i'm autistic (well actually i was worried it wouldn't- autism made a lot of things make sense, so if i wasn't autistic then those things no longer made sense) so it's not a super big deal. also i'm tired, hence my shabby sentence structuring and possibly why finally having an offical diagnosis doesn't seem like such a big deal.
the only thing that threw me was being diagnosed in the aspergers catergory- i'm used to referring to myself as autistic, so having a narrower, different term to use will take some getting used to. i'll probably just keep saying i'm autistic tho, and add 'aspergers specifically' at the end of that.
hopefully i'll end up using this site often, and making an account wasn't a waste of time. being autisitc is something that's gonna stick with me all my life, so i probably will hang around lol.
