Hi! I'm new here. I don't know anyone else with autism. I was diagnosed when I was in my early twenties. I'm in my early 40's now. I thought I had autism since late childhood / adolescence, since many people told me about it and thought I had it, but I had a lot of family problems and didn't get diagnosed until I went to college and got a referral to an Autism specialist to evaluate me. I was diagnosed with classic autism. I am high functioning. Although I guess now it is ASD for everyone and things have changed. I am not really up to speed on any new terms or diagnostic criteria, but I have social, communication, sensory and repetitive issues as well as anxiety and depression. These past couple of years I've struggled with my Autism a lot and I just wanted to look for other Autistic people to spend time online with.

Hi and welcome, sorry to hear you have been struggling, it's good that you are here though, some of us probably have some similar struggles and can relate.

Hi and welcome @mapleleafsoup

Do hang around a bit and get to know us and see what in the conversation here jives with your experience.
Just out of interest can you make soup with maple leaves - just asking?

Thank you for the warm welcome!

@Alexej When I was a little kid I always made a pretend soup out of maple leaves for my dolls when I played outside. I think it might just be a Canadian thing kids do haha
