Hi, my name is Cassi. My son is 10 and has been diagnosed with Aspergers and ADHD. He was diagnosed 3 years ago, but I am still struggling for help. We live in a very rural area of Texas, and have found that we have horrible support and providers available to us for help. I am praying that someone on here can help me to deal with my child in a way that will help him and help me at the same time. :D

The answers you seek are available, but may take some time to find, and to work. I am happy to see you looking. There are so many things that can help him. From a change in diet, to being encouraged in a special interest.
Knowing what the world looked like for me as a child, I can imagine he is struggling a great deal. I might consider some books if you have not already, and it would be greatly encouraged to find some type of support. It is sad that it is not available where you live.
I face the same situation and am working to start a group for that reason. It felt like I was the only one in this whole area to have it until I started reaching out to people, looking for others for the group. I am surprised the school does not provide some kind of service. The County or Parish may provide something as well.

I have hit a brick wall so many times. I was told by the local schools that I was a bad mother because I wanted to get him help in the school system. Their idea of helping him was to leave him in overstimulating situations, just not letting him participate. They would then call me to get him because he had a behavior problem. I would get to the school and find out that his problem was he was under his desk, rocking and humming to himself with his hands over his ears. They considered this a behavior problem instead.
