Hello. I am the proud mother of an amazing 5 year old boy with possible high functioning autism/asperger's. We found out 4 months ago that he received a referral on his behavioral screening from school and the person that did the screening flagged him as 'possible autism' within five minutes of entering the room because of his poor social skills and 'vocal noises'. Since then it's been a whirlwind of appointments, therapies, and trying to get an official diagnosis. We have switched schools so he is now in a special education pre-k program (He tested above average intelligence but his social skills were at that of a two year old) and he has started occupational and speech therapy. We have an appt. with a great facility that specializes in Autism to have an official evaluation done and see if/where he is on the spectrum. We don't know anyone that has gone through this so I guess I'm looking for support and community while I travel this journey with my son. Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great day.

Hello Mama,

So glad you have managed to get things moving quickly for your little one. There's lots of support and resources here.
I hope you will feel at home. :D

Thank you. I am educating myself as much as possible so I can help him. I am hoping all that I do from this point on benefits him to be his best possible self. :)

I'm sure you'll achieve that. As you have the motivation it will be a lot easier than you think. Also, don't give up. If you believe you can, you will.
