Hi. I'm 27 and I live in Washington. I like video games, writing, and learning. I have recently been reading a lot about Asperger's and suspect I could have it. I have related to so much of what I have read and it has put words to some of my experiences that I have never been able to explain. I spent my whole life struggling to be accepted, even by my own family, and spent my teen years drinking because it made me feel a little more normal, but I still couldn't connect with people. I have two kids and as they get older, I have realized how I lack even rudimentary social skills, that I really just mirror people. I really just hope to gain more understanding.

Welcome to the forums.

To start off, I suggest you try to feel less sorry about your behavior as much as humanely possible. Everyone has a different way to interpret/process/respond toward everything thrown at them by life.

I highly encourage you to focus on your talents and abilities, instead of your weaknesses.

In this community, we will be glad to help you find more about yourself and giving you tips on how to deal with these kind of situations, not always easy I recognize, but not impossible to overcome.

Welcome to AC, PrincessRuto. :) I'm popping by your intro thread after reading your post on the thread about wanting/not wanting children. It's nice to find another person who feels the way I do. :herb:
