I've been reading about Aspergers and wondering what I have. Not sure if this is Aspergers, ADD, or just difficulties I've had all my life.
I've taken some online quizzes but I think almost anyone would get some diagnosis on those sites that they have Aspergers/ADD aspects. I'm female and over 50.
As a kid, never looked at people in the eye / I remember specifically being taught to do that
Always had reading comprehension problems, now it seems to include general comprehension
Difficulty memorizing stuff / When in school, would take hours to memorize vocabulary words/definitions that other people could probably do in a few minutes
Often walk into a room and forget what I was doing/why (probably started in late 30s)
Difficulty learning new languages/words
Have to be told stuff, can't just be hinted at
Mind reading / I can usually see that someone is happy/upset but I can't tell if it's faked/lied
Reading between the lines, getting the subtext
Probably more stuff but those are off the top of my head. Any thoughts? Aspergers? ADD? (I've read that sometimes these are misdiagnosed for each other) Something else?
