Do you think there needs to be more research on making employment more inclusive?

Supposedly according to studies the job satisfaction rate for most people is very poor. I know after 17 years stuck in the rat race that my mental health has suffered a steep decline.

High pace, stressful jobs with low pay and dismal job satisfaction. With expectations to multi task and "be a team player" and have attention to detail. Hard to pretend I have any interest in customer service or compliance.

I told HR about Autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. They sent me links to some mental health pamphlets...

If most people aren't satisfied in their jobs I guess it's no wonder people live for the weekend and from pay-cheque to pay-cheque. It certainly makes life fly by.

I'm weighing up when to quit this job as I feel like I'm collapsing in on myself like a dying star.

I was fortunate. I was able to have a varied career and continued to learn and leveraged that and my technical training to have an enjoyable career. At times it was rough, given my perceptions, but I ended up being valued for my contributions that gave me a lot of lattitude.

If I could be so bold as to make a suggestion to a new member, specially with your field of studies. It could be helpful if you could start a blog here on this forum, writing about your studies, and it is maybe helpful to others here.

Personally, I've started doing the same thing, sharing some things that could help others here, during my psychology sessions.
