Hello

Hi, I am Seth. I recently was diagnosed with autism. I like music theory and classical music. I am fifteen. I play 6 instruments. I like to compose jazz music. I like to play jazz music and play classical music on my instruments.

I really only listen to classical music. My favorite composers are Dvorak, Karl Stamitz, Bartok, Rachmanninov, Stravinsky, and many others.

Welcome. I think you must be very talented. I enjoy playing my banjo (scruggs style), listen to jazz, especially gypsy jazz, and classical. I sorta miss Ravinia during the summer after moving away from Chicago and the CSO.

Hello and welcome, Seth! Good to have you here. I hope you find this place useful and enjoyable. Take your time settling in, there is much to read, from the very serious, to the downright silly, to the just plain interesting.

Hey Seth welcome to the forums! I think thats so amazing that you can play that many instruments. Heck, I'm impressed with people that can play even just *one* instrument, let alone 6 of them. May I ask what got you into studying Music Theory? You have great taste in classical composers! I also listen to mostly classical music (if not modern instrumental)...only stuff with vocals that i'll listen to is usually 20s-40s oldies music. I feel like I was born in the wrong time period. Do you feel that way too sometimes?

Thank you! I also love jazz music. I like to play jazz piano. Improvising on jazz piano is so fun.

Thanks! I got lucky and just started really young LOL.

I started studying music theory when I was turning 10 years old because I noticed patterns throughout music, and I wanted to learn about them. I kind of saw everything as an equation, and all I had to do was substitute the variables. Since then, I have been hooked on it!

I also feel that way at times. I respect the fact that musical culture changes throughout time, but I feel that music is really all about the emotion and message, and I just don't connect to many of the messages or emotions in a lot of today's music, so yes!

Nice. Improv is such an important part of jazz. A great place I've been to is the Palm Court in NOLA. Impeccable acoustics and the same people that play Preservation Hall, plus more, come to the Palm Court.
