Hi everyone.

Not so great at intro's, sorry:

I'm 16 yrs old, and I strongly suspect I have Aspergers. I'm here because I have so many questions, and no one to talk to about it, because no one believes I have it. I've been homeschooled all my life, but just recently had to switch to school because the work is getting increasingly difficult - and to be honest I'm really struggling with it. I don't understand what people want, why they say some things, how I'm supposed to respond...It's so embarrassing.

So, yeah.

See you guys around! :)

Your story sounds familiar a bit, and I can see where where the isolation of home schooling would have exaggerated the difficulty in social situations, even if you are not an Aspie. Welcome here either way, and I suspect that after visiting here for a while, you will be able to form a pretty accurate opinion of weather or not you are.
Good luck in your search, and in your life.

Welcome to AspiesCentral!! This is a great place to get information and real life stories from people with AS/HFA. I love this place, and its because of this place that I've been able to better understand myself and become comfortable and confident in my own self-diagnosis. I wish you the best!

Hi and welcome Hidden. There quite a few members who have been through what you have, and be able to help you with their experiences.

I have a feeling you do not have aspergers.

You've been stuck indoors from everyone else all your life. Of course you don't understand the slang!

You should try speaking with your school councilor and catch up on your settling in to the new school. Tell him/her about your social-skill problems. Tell them about the fact that you've been homeschooled and do not know what to expect.

That's all I can tell you without knowing more. Anyways, Hello and Welcome!! :)

Welcome :)

That sounds like a rough time to learn about the possibility of AS. We'll do what we can to help out; everyone's real friendly and helpful around here. Feel free to ask us questions, share your experiences, and browse our forums for answers.

If you'd like some reading material too, we have a great recommended resources section, for books on AS:
