Here we go . . .

SyAn

. . . wait, I'm thinking . . .
Heard of this site on WP, thought to check it out . . . I am mostly reading, also love playing Word-games to relax . . . some communication issues due to massive over-thinking everything . . . masking adequately in RL, not here though which will be nice :)

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome - a bit overwhelming considering I was my usual uncommunicative self!

So I will try to tell a bit about myself: I am female, in my fifties, married to a very tolerant NT :)

Being HFA I have never officially disclosed, neither at University nor at any of my work places. I guess I was mostly seen as eccentric, odd . . . and that's ok with me. I have always had a thing about labels for people and what they can do (stereotypes/expectations - past experiences with high IQ labelling at school).
I muddled along in life as best as I could through a number of careers (paediatric nurse, special ed. teacher, SEN adviser, SEN manager, SEN-IT consultant), was quite successful at each but now not working (burn-out, surprised?).

We have lived in many different places, different countries, languages, cultures, sometimes quite isolated . . .

I have written a bit of music, a bit of poetry, a bit of short prose. Currently (well for the past few years actually) I am obsessed with Excel and Numbers.

Talking about myself and how I feel, I don't do that well at all but I have decided to start practising in a safe place :)
Again, thanks to you all who have been reading my ramblings :flushed:

Family visiting this coming weekend (staying overnight), two adults, two children, lovely people, warm, busy, boisterous, in our small apartment . . .

My weekend Mantra: "No I will not hide in my wardrobe . . ."

All went well and I did not hide in my wardrobe :)
Good to hear the visit went well...:)

How fortunate you did not have to go there...some spend a entire lifetime trying to come out of the closet :p
