Hey Everybody!

Hey everybody! Glad to join this forum. I learned about Asperger's and autism just a few months ago, and it explained a lot about my social situation for the past 20-odd years. I am looking into getting jobs with little social interaction, but it seems like even the most entry-level or simple jobs like dish-washing require prior experiences. So I hope I could get some help trying to get out there into the real world.

Welcome. I am fairly new here also. There are some great minds on this site. It is really helpful to learn how people deal with and cope with the issues that are commonplace for us.

Welcome gottastartsomewhere! you are absolutely right and I wish you luck in finding those first experiences! Hope this forum can help.

Go to a place that has trouble hiring and retaining people. The job will be stressful at first if it is a bad place. But you aren’t planning on staying. You only want a reference. After being there a few months, apply somewhere else. Try stocker, ie walmart. It’s fairly peaceful at night at 24 hour stores on the night shift. It isn’t totally alone as many are stocking but you’ll be stocking your stack of stuff. not as much talking. a late night customer might ask where something is.

Thanks for the welcome, everybody!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I'm still living with my parents, and they wouldn't want me working at night. However, someone the other day told me on a Q&A website that there are factories that will hire people with no experience. He said I could just go the HR department of each factory, fill out a form, and, if there's no one better, I have a chance of being hired. I asked him what kind of factories were these, but he didn't reply. Would you, or anyone else on this forum, have any idea what these factories are?

Don’t go overseas or anywhere you do not have contact with your family. Depending on where it is certain jobs can have human trafficking or safety risks.

Yes, I'm in the US. They're just worried about me getting enough sleep and being safe, that's all. I could consider Walmart during the day, but that would involve more social interaction, right?

Some. you’d have to take orders. There are other employees. They may try to place blame on you if you share duties. If you don’t have to share duties, you might be might be ok. I’ve survived a few mean bosses. but
i learned to deal with that most of the time. They too busy to torture you all the time. .they gotnother things to do.

There was a ship building company that promised people from India 20,000 a year. The indians were middle class not poor. When they got here they kept them in like a prison. one got brave enough on Sunday to tell a priest and escape. It was a human trafficking scam.Ao be careful of free housing etc.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll keep them in mind on my job search.
